Every Second Saturday, Akasha presents Simmer Down Sound, one of Chicago’s most diverse and unique reggae and dancehall scenes. We want to large up all of the people who came out to July 9th! The vibes were way up!
We are delighted to announce that Simmer Down Sound will be hosting an official after party for Reggae Fest Chicago Saturday Augusts 13th atDouble Door‘s Door No. 3!
Fresh off their own Reggae Fest Chicago performance and alongside Jamaican Rocksteady legends, The Official Keith and Tex, The MightyAkasha Crew will perform an inspired after party show!
We have two amazing guest selectors! Our sister Kinky P has been touring all over North America showing the reggae massive how we do it in Chicago! She will nice up the dance with pure selection!
All the way from Tijuana, Mexico we have Mykol Orthodox of TJ Fiyah Sound! He will bless with some early ska and rocksteady selection!
Our bredda King Tony returns with one of the best reggae vinyl collections in the city!
Simmer Down Sound selection is strictly vinyl, and always royal! We bring you reggae and dancehall anthems from the foundation riddims of rocksteady to the big tunes of dancehall, featuring resident selectors:
